Traffic violation leads to bust

Two people were nabbed on drug charges in Jersey City early Sunday after the car they were in blew a red light, police said.

Anthony Bolden, 36, of Cartaret Avenue, and Yolanda Draughan, 38, of Grant Avenue, were charged with drug possession and attempt to distribute drugs near a school, police said.

The 34-year-old driver, a resident of Bergen Avenue, was issued a summons for driving without a license and failing to stop at a traffic signal after he drove through a red light at Martin Luther King Drive and Kearney Avenue at 12:10 a.m., police said.

When police patted Bolden down, they found a plastic bag containing 26 clear bags of suspected marijuana, police said.

Draughan was arrested after tossing a cigarette packet to the ground that contained a cigarette that was dipped in PCP, police said.
