If you want to do it outdoor, the Hyatt is a good option.

My brother in law is indian and he and my sister held a huge desi ceremony outdoors. They close off the enitre pier for you so there is plenty of space. They did the entrance on a horse carriage and all, it was a lot of fun. There was another indian ceremony there the next morning so I guess it is a popular spot.

They also had the food catered, but I'm not sure where. I can ask if you would like more info.

If you like Rasoi's food, they have a catering/banquet hall near Piscataway, NJ, called Rasoi III. They have a pretty big room overlooking a large, outdoor garden area. I believe it can accomodate 250 people, but not sure about that.

Does anyone know a good hall to have a desi (indian/pakisani) reception/ruksati (sp?)?? We need a place that can serve halal food as well. I'm hoping to find someone with firsthand experience at a really nice place.

Any advice is appreciated.
