Gang of seven beats, robs intoxicated man in Jersey City, cops say

man-beaten-jersey-city.jpgGoogle mapsA 42-year-old man was beaten and robbed late last night at Myrtle and Ocean avenues in Jersey City.An intoxicated 42-year-old Jersey City man was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center late last night after being beaten by a group of males and robbed of his wallet, officials said.

The Pine Street man was walking at Myrtle and Ocean avenues at 11:15 p.m. when seven males approached him and began punching and kicking him in the face, head and body, reports said.

The males suddenly ran away in different directions and it was then that the victim realized his wallet, which contained $20, was gone, reports said.

The victim was taken to the Medical Center for treatment and police tried to interview him there but they could not because he was too intoxicated, reports said.
