You can export the Excel data to a comma delimited (.csv) file that can be imported by Outlook fairly easily.
Check this link, it has exactly what you're looking for and obviously it's free. http://www.csus.edu/saclink/email/importaddresses.stm Good luck, not that you'll need it. It's like 3 steps. Just make sure you have a backup of the Excel file, -just in case-.

Does anybody know of a local company or a person who can help me with technical issues with my PC at home? Geek Squad is really expensive and I wonder what other options there are, if any. I need help with transferring email contacts from an Excel file to Outlook and just feeling defeated. It?s probably a 5 minute job for a pro. Thanks.
