Attackers punch, stab 3 in Heights street fight

Three men were punched, kicked and stabbed in a street fight in Jersey City early yesterday, police reports said.

Called to Palisade Avenue and South Street at 4:30 a.m. on reports of a fight, police met a 22-year-old Palisade Avenue resident who said he and a 23-year-old friend were walking home when four males jumped out of a truck or sports utility vehicle and began to punch and hit them with beer bottles, reports said.

One of the victims suffered a half-inch gash to his forearm and an abrasion to the knee, while the other victim received multiple cuts to his hands, police said.

And when the father of the Palisade Avenue resident rushed outside to help, the attackers shoved him and stomped on him, reports said.

The attackers then jumped backed into their vehicle and fled, reports said.

The victims were all treated at Christ Hospital.
