Puppy, jewels taken from apt.
Monday, May 11, 2009
A 28-year-old Jersey City woman reported having jewelry and her Yorkie pup stolen from her apartment on Saturday and what could be an ominous warning sign left behind, reports said.
Called to the Linden Avenue apartment at 3 p.m., police found the woman who told them she had been out from 3 to 6 a.m. and when she returned home, she found her Yorkshire Terrier, $15,000 worth of jewelry, and furs missing, reports said.
But it wasn't just what was missing that frightened the woman. It was also what was left behind, reports said.
The woman said she found the book "Cross Country" by James Patterson, reports said. In the book, a serial killer enters a home and murders a woman and her family, reports said.
