Two people were shot on their way to the grocery store Sunday afternoon, Jersey City police said.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at Van Horne Street near Communipaw Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. and found a 20-year-old man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the back of one leg.
Officers then learned of a second victim who was inside a store around the corner at Communipaw and Woodward Street. The 16-year-old victim had gunshot wounds to his left shoulder and lower back, reports said.
Both victims said they were walking to the store when they were shot and neither could identify the shooter, police said.
Both were treated at the Jersey City Medical Center, reports said.
