Running from police in a stolen car, three alleged burglars ran into five parked cars and a police cruiser early yesterday morning, according to Jersey City police reports.

Police received a call about 1:24 a.m. yesterday that two males were attempting to break into a 2003 Audi at Monitor and Maple avenues.

Neighbors chased the pair, who jumped into a waiting silver Audi TT Roadster, believed to be stolen, and drove away, police said.

Police pursued the Audi and blocked the intersection of Van Horne and Lafayette streets with a squad car, reports said.

The Audi sped north on Van Horne, hopped the northeast curb and struck a parked car before crashing into the squad car, damaging its entire driver's side, reports said.

It then crashed into two parked cars before continuing north, reports said.

The car chase continued through Bergen/Lafayette until the getaway car collided with two more parked cars on Reed Street, reports said.

The three suspects got out of the car and ran in different directions, reports said.

Police surrounded the driver of the getaway car, a 17-year-old Newark girl, at 689 Bergen Ave., where she surrendered, police said.

Several units, including the canine unit, were called in to search for the other two suspects, but police were unable to locate them, reports said.

The 17-year-old has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief, criminal attempt, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and eluding an officer. She also was issued four motor vehicle summonses, including driving without a license.
