Wednesday, October 29, 2008 By TOM SHORTELL JOURNAL STAFF WRITER
Jersey City police arrested two men Monday night after eyewitnesses identified them as the robbers who attacked a delivery man and stole his money, reports said.
The delivery man with King Dragon Chinese Restaurant had just left a house on Clarke Avenue when the two men, later identified as Brian Jamal Carter, 19, of Danforth Avenue, and Johnathan James Jackson, 18, of Virginia Avenue, approached him, reports said.
One of the men threw the delivery man to the ground and demanded cash, reports said.
The robbers punched the delivery man in the head and took $52 from his pocket before running west toward Route 440, reports said.
Based on descriptions by witnesses, police spotted and nabbed the teens on Mallory Avenue, reports said.
The teens had a total of $114, Jackson had a 9-inch kitchen knife, and they were both charged with robbery, reports said.
