I wonder if that was because he was feeling remorse for all that he has done, or because he got caught? I can imagine some street cred will be lost from that being printed.

Another nabbed in 'Crips' gang probe
Friday, October 17, 2008
By MICHAELANGELO CONTE
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

A Jersey City man wanted in connection with a large gang investigation was arrested yesterday when police stormed a multifamily home on Bramhall and Pacific avenues, police said.

Travis Booker, 19, of Fremont Street in the Booker T. Washington housing complex, was arrested at the house at 11:45 a.m. yesterday and tears were running down his cheeks as officers walked him away, police said.

Booker's arrest leaves only two people still wanted in the gang roundup that began on Oct. 1, police said.

Still being sought are Rashawn McFadden, 19, of Pearsall Avenue, and Jamal O'Neal, 24, of the Booker T. Washington complex.

Police stormed the home yesterday because they believed they were dealing with a hostage situation when Booker threatened to not let a woman and a baby out of the home, cops said.

Booker was wanted on charges including aggravated assault, numerous firearms offenses and a violation of probation in connection with the probe, which centers on the activity of "52 Hoover Street Gangsta Crips," which operates in the Booker T. Washington complex, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said.

He has been on probation since May after having been convicted of another aggravated assault charge and theft, DeFazio said, adding that he was sentenced to two concurrent three-year probation terms for the crimes.

Police tracked Booker to the residence, were he was with a woman and a baby. Police said they called the woman on the phone and "explained the situation because we wanted to be cautious of the baby and woman," said Capt. Chet Major.

"She confirmed he was there and the baby was there and he wasn't letting her out. He became agitated and started screaming at police from the window. Then we heard screaming inside and a struggle so we forced entry."

Booker was found in a third-floor bedroom and taken into custody after a scuffle by officers of the Warrant Squad, Gang Unit and Emergency Services Unit.

Another man who had been sought, Adrell Bennett, 19, of Wade Street, was shot to death on Monday.
