Restaurant kitchen blaze results in heavy damage

Jersey City firefighters fought a two-alarm kitchen fire at the Markers Harborside Grille Wednesday night, Fire Director Armando Roman said.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 34 Exchange Place at 11:22 p.m. and it was under control by 1:51 a.m.

The kitchen suffered heavy damage, officials said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is not thought to be suspicious, Roman said. There were no injuries.
