Delays and detours planned for Skyway traffic by Journal staff Thursday June 12, 2008, 2:44 PM More repairs are on the way for the Pulaski Skyway, and that means commuters are facing more delays and detours. The state Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that the Skyway's southbound lanes from the Tonnele Circle to the Broadway on-ramp will be closed tonight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday, the DOT will temporarily close the southbound Skyway from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additionally, two weekend closures will be scheduled. Here's how the DOT plans to re-route southbound traffic on Route 1&9: The on-ramp from Tonnele Avenue to the Skyway will be closed and traffic will be detoured to the Route 1&9 Truck Route and continue back to Route 1&9 in Newark. Traffic from Route 139 westbound will also be detoured to the Tonnele Circle and will follow the same detour as Route 1&9 traffic. Motorists can access real-time traffic information via the state DOT Web site at www.nj511.info and www.njcommuter.com.
