Nab 5 teens in attack
Friday, January 11, 2008 Five boys from Newark were arrested yesterday at the Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City after they robbed a man of his iPod nearby, officials said. The three 14-year-old boys, two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old were arrested about 1:10 a.m. and charged with robbery and breaking the juvenile curfew, Capt. Hugh Donaghue said. Officers with the West District curfew detail patrolling in the bus station spotted the group of boys and questioned them because they fit the description of the robbers, Donaghue said. The victim was brought to the Square and he identified the boys as his attackers; police found the iPod stuffed into a sock on one of the boys, Donaghue said. West District officers have picked up 38 juvenile curfew violators over the past two weeks, Donaghue said. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
