Pizzeria staff tied in $1,572 robbery
Saturday, November 10, 2007 Romano's Pizzeria on West Side Avenue in Jersey City was robbed of $1,572 Thursday night, police said. Two robbers entered the pizzeria around 11:16 p.m. as two employees were closing up for the night, police said. Brandishing handguns, the robbers ordered the employees to the floor and tied their feet and hands, police said. The robbers then took the cash that one of the store employees had been counting. police said. The store employees were unhurt and said they were certain they had locked all the doors before they started tallying the day's receipts, police said.
