Years ago, I approached two men that were inside the Roberto Clemente Park and asked if they knew who was maintaining the lawns because the grass was in such good condition. I had told them that I was trying to get help for Hamilton Park to try and improve the lawns there.

The two guys both answered me in an extremely hostile tone. One of them said, ?lady, we don?t let our kids play in that shit of a park? and the other one said ?I haven?t taken my kids there in years and we aren?t going back there again?. I was taken back. I was fairly new to Hamilton Park at that time and was just learning about the politics involved.

To this day, I still believe that either Roberto Clemente Park or Enos Jones Park (or both) should be available for locals to use for ballplaying (and not just the little league teams). If people that want to use these fields to play a game and act responsibly by leaving the premises in good condition and lock up when leaving, then they should be given keys. Just my two cents.

When the city came to HPNA years ago with the renovation plans for Enos Jones we pleaded with them to make the field multi-use, for soccer etc, since there's no public ball fields downtown. Nyet. It belongs to Little League and Dickinson.

I love how they give lip service to community input by coming to us, then ignoring everything we say. The same thing happened with Golden Door, our supposed "community center". The gym's open only for paying customers, and the suggestion that the space be available for community theater was chuckled at.

I used to sneak on there years ago to play softball. You can forget about the ones in Enos Jones Park. There are always guys hanging out and "lording" over the place.

I called the number of the Little League 201-963-4462 to no avail! I'm surprised to find not too much info about the league. I suppose if I break in to the field I will find out more

I saw a bunch of kids with no supervision using the field today, I thought they hopped the fence but then I saw one of the kids was, how should I say? a bit huskie...then I saw the entrance was open. Who is in charge of the field? I think that it's crazy I can't use that field and plan to write everyone I can think of starting with Fulop.

The Little League Mafia controls that field. They do whatever they want. Ever notice the loudspeaker system at the LL Field in Enos Jones Park? You can hear it clearly in Hamilton Park 3 blocks away. If you call the city to complain they will ignore you. They can't even keep the Little League clean in this city. Scumbags everywhere. And BTW? No, you cannot use that field.

What's the deal with this field? How do you gain access to it? Is it only for the little league? I would like to use it as a resident who pays taxes and lives very close by.
Who can I call to use it? Does anyone know?
