Two men shot by gunman hospitalized - shooter loose
Wednesday, November 05, 2008 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A Jersey City man was shot in the face and another in his left thigh as the pair chatted on a Greenville street corner early yesterday morning, officials said. Police, responding to the intersection of Gifford and Bergen avenues at 12:13 a.m., found a 27-year-old Belmont Avenue man bleeding heavily from his left temple and a 35-year-old Belmont Avenue man bleeding from his leg, reports said. Advertisement The 35-year-old said they were sitting near the steps of a building when shots rang out and he felt pain in his leg, report said. He said that after being shot he saw a man wearing a dark "hoodie" running toward Bentley Avenue, reports said. Both victims were taken to the Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. Doctors said the wounds did not appear to be life-threatening, reports said.
