From my past experiences with undercovers out here, I'm sure asking if he was mute went more like this. " hey what are you f-in deaf ..no habla ingles a-hole?? "

Report: He took a bite out of cop

by Michaelangelo Conte
Thursday January 03, 2008, 2:07 PM

A Jersey City man bit one police officer and punched another in the nose after they spotted him peering suspiciously through the window of a Cadilac parked outside the North District station early this morning, reports said.

Carlos "Rizzy" Rodriguez, 23, of Seaview Avenue, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. at Hutton Street and Central Avenue and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing justice, reports said.

Plainclothes officers spotted Rodriguez peering into the car window through cupped hands, identified themselves and asked him what he was doing, reports said.

Rodriguez put his hands in his pocket, backed into a doorway and refused to answer, reports said. When an officer shined his flashlight on his badge and asked Rodriguez if he was mute, Rodriguez began swinging at the officer, striking him in the face and giving him a bloody nose, reports said.

When a second officer grabbed Rodriguez, he sunk his teeth into the officer's forearm, braking his skin through three layers of clothing, reports said.

A third officer who ran over from the police station also suffered cuts and scraps during the struggle, reports said.

The officers were taken to Christ Hospital for treatment and Rodriguez was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center to be evaluated, reports said.
