So glad I got out of downtown last summer after being there for 17 years. This over-development is really out of hand. I'm all for improvements, but sheesh!! The PATH system and parking/traffic is already way over-loaded.

Construction starts soon just to the north on Marin and Morgan. Toll Brothers (Phase One - 38 story tower with two more phases over the next six years or so) will be driving piles for a month or so as well.
Eventually construction on Marin and Steuben/Morgan (small lot) will also begin. The small house on Morgan was demolished a couple weeks ago leading the way to build an 8-10 story residential.

70-90 Columbus project at the Grove Street PATH Station - two residential towers totaling 942 units, a 144-room hotel, 12,000 square feet of retail, and additional parking for 320 cars. Construction on the 70 Columbus 55-story apartment tower and the 80 Columbus hotel to begin in April 2013. The 90 Columbus tower will be constructed later.

oh wow! thanks for the info - i had no idea it was such a huge project, although it makes sense. i definitely need to get used to the construction noises ;)

They will start piling there soon--- its a high rise building project... so people in GrovePt will def need to stock up on earplugs

They filled it in this morning. I live in grove pointe facing east and the work has been waking me up every morning.

does anyone know what is going on in the lot on the corner of marin and columbus? i saw they dug a huge ditch yesterday and filled it in today. just curious!
