The street cleaners tend to move way too fast to really do a thorough job. Also there would be better results if people were hired to pick up trash manually as is done in many, cleaner European cities.

But as was previously mentioned, street cleaning here is not about cleaning streets, but generating revenue. If the city were worried about cleanliness, there would be more litter cans and there would be litter crews to clean up at least the commercial streets.

But when the citizens keep whining over how high their taxes are, the only option for government is to cut services to balance budgets and find alternative revenue streams.

Maybe I just have more competent truck operators that sweep in my neighborhood, but the streets always seem cleaner to me after they pass through.

If it weren't for the ticketing street sweeping, there would probably be cars that sit in the same spot for months. Even better I am sure a few streets would amass cars on blocks....

Does anyone agree, all they do is leave more garbage then they pickup. Drivers speed down the street so fast the sweeper has no time to pickup anything.I think the city needs to look into something like a vacuum truck that picks it up not dumps it out.
