You could stage a counter-attack by placing your computer speaker in your window in the direction of the noise ruffians and playing your "best of Beethoven" CD at moderately high volume.

Is there anything that can be done about the incessant noise from the concerts on governors island heard in downtown JC every weekend? This is ridiculous, it is 11:30 on a Sunday night and I can hear the bass through closed windows!
