I like this idea. Will the vans take the kids far far away and dump them in the woods?

Dear Neighbors,

Updates from the DJCW:

PATROL NOTES FROM YESTERDAY (MONDAY, JULY 17TH):
Patrol was conducted in the Van Vorst Park Area, Grove Street and Newark Avenue.

Patrollers distributed info about National Night Out (August 1st).Patrollers noted poor lighting on Barrow between Montgomery & Mercer Street.Patrollers noted evidence of drug use/dealing ('dime bag") on Barrow.

REPORT FROM COUNCILMAN STEVE FULOP:

NIGHT PATROLS ? The East District PD will be increasing the number of cars patrolling in the overnight shift with a goal of reaching nine total.

JUVENILE CURFEWS ? There is a curfew for children under the age of 17 throughout Jersey City between 10:30pm & 6:00am , unless the child is coming from work or is accompanied by an adult. Curfew vans will be registered this week and will begin enforcement.

SPEEDING ? Captain McDonough will be training 10 officers in each precinct on the use of radar for better speeding enforcement. He will also be meeting with Traffic and Engineering to discuss the feasibility and appropriateness of putting in speed bumps at strategic spots.

STREET UNITS ? The new Chief of Police has begun reassigning police from special units to the streets. We should be noticing more police presence and better response times.
