Does anyone have any suggestions as far as a car service to JFK goes? I have a flight early tomorrow morning. Leaving from Paulus Hook. Thanks!

Another way to get to JFK is to take the shuttle bus, which you can get at Park & 42nd across the street from Grand Central. It cost about $27 round trip. You can either take the PATH to 34th st & take a cab to 42nd & Park or take a bus to Port Authority & walk over.

We took the A train to JFK on the way in (about 90 min, and it was a pain), but we came back too early -- and too exhausted -- to do it again. So we took a cab to WTC (paid the regular $45 to Manhattan from JFK; to JC, I think it was $90 or something) and then hopped on the Newark train. It worked well, we got home in about 40 minutes total.
Whenever possible, book flights out of EWR... I think that even for someone in Manhattan it would be better than JFK. In our case the difference was too great to justify paying more for Newark.

Quite a regular

As a weekly flyer, I have to agree with GrovePath, go for Newark, especially if you are flying at odd hours. On late returns, public transit out by JFK can be spotty, and a taxi will cost you $80-$100. You can always take the Airtran from Hoboken to Newark, or from the PATH stop in Newark via NJ transit.

I'd go over 12 percent for that

I got there even quicker on public transportation: take the PATH to 33rd st, walk one block to Penn Station, take any LIRR train stopping at Jamaica (try for an express = 20 minutes), then hop on the AirTrain at Jamaica station. It took about an hour from Grove St and was more comfortable than taking the A train, despite all the transfers. Maybe not so good if you've got lots of luggage, though!

If you do not have too much luggage, then public transportation is actually a good option.
Take the Grove Street Path to World Trade Center, take the A Train to Howard Beach (note: ONLY the ones to Far Rockaway will stop at Howard Beach, not Lefferts Blvd), take the Air Train from Howard Beach to the terminals. Total cost: $8.50. I've done this a couple of times and always gotten to the airport terminal in 90 minutes, including a 10 minute walk to the Path Station. Joshua

Don't drive!
I drove my friend and... Go out of Newark if you can -- saving a few bucks isn't worth it.
