Final vote delayed in Jersey City Heights rezoning plan

By Caitlin Mota | The Jersey Journal
on April 30, 2017 at 11:05 AM

JERSEY CITY - The school board has revised rezoning plans that would affect students in the Jersey City Heights, delaying a final vote that was scheduled for Thursday night until next month.

Officials said the rezoning plan is intended to eliminate overcrowding in schools where many children in the 28,000-student district attend classes in trailers. Earlier this month, parents expressed fear of their children attending a new school away from their current classmates, also citing safety and transportation concerns.

don't forget the Chinese government. I think they may be involved in this, too.

judging from your twitter activity, blame trump. some 80% of your official posts are jabs at him. no wonder you totally miss local issues. everything was before your eyes, and you blew again.

btw, when was the last time you investigated bob menendez' prostitutes scandal? you are a volunteer establishment lap dog.

JERSEY CITY -- Families in the Jersey City Heights are on edge as they await word on a plan devised by the public-school district that would force many of them to send their young children to new schools in the fall.

The plan is intended to alleviate crowding in the 28,000-student school district, where some schools are so over capacity students are taught in trailers. But parents are worried about longer routes to school and separating their children from friends and beloved teachers. Others are mystified that they won't be able to send their children to the schools closest to their homes.
