I use Bob's glass on Communipaw. Usually same day service
and very fair prices.

Just hard to park in that area.

We have a winner! Raymond Glass will charge $75 if you bring it to them. Drop it off before lunchtime and they can have it back to you repaired in about 2hrs.

$195-$225 if they have to come to you.

Thanks for all your help guys. Will let you know how I get on with them when I take the window down there on Wednesday morning.

It cost me $100 to drop off a sealed double pane sash, and $200 for a visit to replace a pane that was 1/4 of the window with matching textured glass. Will the Glass Doctors actually do the work onsite of resealing the glass cartridge with gas? Or just pick it up and take it back to their shop?

Personally I'd take it out, tape plastic over the window and take it to Hoboken.

Try
Orange Glass & Mirror Company
45 Brookwood St
East Orange, NJ
(973) 609-2516

The owner is Lamont. They will repair on site.
They have done quite a few repairs/replacements for me and my neighbors.

Thanks Brewster.

Just called Glass Doctors of Staten Island. They're quoting me $270 to come to me and carry out the repair. I know you do a lot of home repairs with your rental building(s) - does $270 sound about the market rate to you?

Hoboken Glass is who I've used several times, both to drop off the whole sash and have them come when it was an old wooden one that didn't come out.

One of our windows is cracked right across the pane from one side to the other. Need to get it repaired - anyone have any decent local recommendations?

Also, what is the protocol with a single pane of glass that needs to be replaced? This is a standard double-glazed window that can be popped out of the window frame for cleaning. Should I bring the window to the glazier's shop to have it repaired, or does he come to you?

Would seem easier to just bring it to him and have it repaired/replaced there and then in his shop.

Thanks in advance!
