Fulop is a disgrace, just when I thought I couldn't regret my vote for him any more... this is just more legal fees added to the city budget on a frivolous case that seems cut and dry. Buyer's remorse Jersey City? Grow up.

I guess you didn't read the article... the buildings are already built, and have been in business for a decade. They are arguing over how much tax is owed every year. The builder had reached an agreement with the city in which a fixed yearly payment was set, but the city now wants to see that figure increased periodically every year. While I think the city may have reached a bad deal back in 2010, an agreement is an agreement. This reeks of politics as usual, and that's a shame.

The dispute revolves around two buildings that are part of Mack-Cali's Harborside: Plaza 5, at 185 Hudson St., and Plaza 4A, at 135 Greene St. The developers, subsidiaries of Mack-Cali, allege the city is forcing them to pay more in payments-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) than the developers agreed to pay as part of a 2010 agreement.
