Considering the size of the JCPD, we've had a lot of crime, corruption, legal action and questionable behavior perpetrated by our so-called 'law abiding'- 'law enforcing' officers in the past 10 years. The culture within the JCPD doesn't appear 'healthy' at all!

Mike Lang was briefly mentioned and pictured on Michael Shurin's blog realjerseycity.com
Now we know what this drunken thug looks like -

Hopefully he can get us a story on how Fulop supporter John Lynch got a job at DPW? Was the job posted on the city website?

You sure it's the same John Lynch? That John Lynch took a very passive role in the campaign - mostly just showed up to drink at things. Can't imagine that translates into a job...

Yelp reviews for the judge that dismissed Lang's DWI case. Charles Daglian.

"Thug", "corrupt and crooked".

Meanwhile we are paying everybody involved's salary and, by city council resolution, Cowan's legal representation.

The Jersey City Police Dept needs the same federal oversight as Newark.

Thank you Terrence. Excellent work, unlike Lang you are a credit to your profession. There's no way this officer should still be patrolling the streets.
Next step is to find the video of the incident at the gas station, it can't be worse than Vincent Corso's... Or could it?

Thank you! The Corso video was public so we could get it via a public-records request. From what I understand, this was private security video. If this makes it to trial, we may see it then.

An horrendous but timely reminder of what this sort of behavior can cause.

PO Mike Lang was arrested after getting into a fight and pulling a gun at a JC gas station in 2013. Was visibly drunk and, as per the JCPD MO, refused a breathalyzer test. He was charged with DWI and had his service weapon and badge taken away.

There are no further reports.
Does anybody know what action, if any, was taken? Or is this yet another officer who has escaped the law that the rest of us are held to? (See Linden officer Pedro Abad http://www.silive.com/news/index.ssf/ ... j_officer_pedro_abad.html and or JCPD Sgt. Vince Corso http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... t_corso_traffic_stop.html).
I ask because I recently saw Lang on foot patrol so he is certainly still a serving PO, but as only the second officer I have ever seen on foot in my 15 years here I do wonder if he is banned from driving or something.
