Residents take to parks and streets for 'Great Jersey City Cleanup'

JERSEY CITY -- Though rain hampered their turnout this morning, residents took to Jersey City's parks and streets today to participate in the first annual "Great Jersey City Cleanup."

The event, part of a series of city events celebrating Earth Day, is a citywide initiative where community members join city crews in cleaning their neighborhoods.

Pack a picnic lunch and rent CitiBikes if you don't have your own. It's a 10-mile loop around LSP, the weather's gonna be great and checking out the view of the harbor and Ellis Island and the Statue are things she can't do at home. Have a great weekend!

LSP has a earth day fair tomorrow! Its always fun

My girlfriend is coming into town this weekend, and we don't have any concrete plans other than brunch and dinner with friends. Is there anything going on this weekend that we should look into downtown / in the greater JC area?

We're up for just about anything - touring a farmer's market, attending any musical / cultural events, etc. Just looking for something a little different to do.
