I sent you a message in your inbox and FYI most of my colleagues require that the parent be present during the lesson if it is in our personal studios or at the students home.

As playing music requires physical movement we need to be able to make corrective measures to our students and not be accused of indecent touching.

We are private educators not baby sitters.

JCList: from piano teacher referral request to pedophiles, in 5 posts. Might be a new record.

Not surprised we still have adults that hang out in parks in kiddie play areas without children in this town.. Not sure why no ordinance was ever pass for that.... Its like a sex offenders day dream. Jersey City really needs to get it together.

Make sure any private contractor that works with children pass a background check. Several years ago, a piano teacher had a sexual assault in his background. When Fulop on a councilman he said he wanted to pass a municipal law that would require this after a parent complained at a council meeting. Nothing has happened so far.

Beginners- ages 5 and 8. Neither of them have had any exposure, so this would be an introduction to them. Thank you

Aart in America
(201) 406-2594

If anyone can make a child want to play piano, it's Aart. He is a very sociable, entertaining and talented teacher as well as piano tuner.

Can anyone recommend a good piano teacher who may be willing to come to the house or a studio in JC or Bayonne for lessons for kids?
