The cafe wifi store should have a sign that states wifi is for paying customers only and all unattended laptops / iphones etc will be disconnected and removed from tables and stored behind the counter - proof of ownership will be required or items will be handed to police.
They could also have a sign that states no outside food or beverages are permitted in the store for consumption

There is something wrong with this fake customer. I would have booted the guy out the joint and barred him for life.

Rebecca Panico | The Jersey Journal
A man walked in to John's Kitchen Cafe, plugged in his computer and then left his possessions unattended while he bought a cup of coffee across the street at Dunkin Donuts before coming back in. "I was like, 'seriously?'" said Sam Attaya, owner of the caf?. "I called him an a--hole." While still standing in front of Attaya, the man went on Yelp.com, a website that lets people review businesses, and gave the shop one star and a negative review. Story LMAO I would not be surprised if its someone on this board...
