insane that someone would shoot anyone over a traffic accident

Agreed, but this is hardly a new thing. Just this year, we have had many such incidents all over the US. The most egregious one was probably the one that happened in the Las Vegas metro area a few months ago. I am not sure what would send someone over that edge but, as a society, we seem to have collectively lost the ability to rationally and peacefully deal with the issues that happen in every day life.

JJ - Article Update

"My brother was one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back. In 35 years of knowing him I have never seen him want to fight anybody."

Jermaine says the shooter was described to him as a tall man with dreadlocks and was accompanied by a shorter man.

Jermaine said that Michael is recently divorced, has a four-year old son named Elijah, and worked at the Gel Spices company in Bayonne for the past nine years.

"He loves going to work and he loves his family. Everyday after work he comes by and he sees our grandmother," said Jermaine. "He was an incredible guy and I was proud to be his big brother. He showed me how to love people. There was no hate in his heart."

The Prosecutor's Office has not yet provided any details about the incident other than to confirm that a man was fatally shot last night at Orient and Bergen avenues.

"The last time I saw Michael he gave me a ride to the train station yesterday," recalls Jermaine. "The last thing he said to me before I got out the car was that he wanted to go grab a beer with me today over at a local bar here called the Light Rail Cafe."

"That was at about 9 a.m. yesterday," Jermaine added. "They took a great guy for no apparent reason. No reason at all."

Family members are saying that a Jersey City man shot to death last night was murdered following a motor vehicle accident.

Family members have identified the dead man as Michael Settles, 35, of Garfield Avenue.

According to Micheal Settles' older brother, Jermaine, 40, some time between 10:30 and 11 p.m., Michael Settles got into a minor fender-bender at Orient and Bergen avenues, near their grandmother's home on Bergen Avenue.
