I take Greatschools reviews with a grain of salt. Lots of the bad reviews of LCCS are the disgruntled entitled upset that they didn't get their way, and clearly some reviews of other schools were solicited by the administration.

The online forums have unreliable and scarce information. The FB pages of the public school is one place to start. The official website is also good for limited info: http://www.jcboe.org/boe2015/

The best way is to find parents whose kids go to the school you are interested in and talk to them.

Where can I find information about the quality of the Jersey City school system? Does anyone here want to share their experiences with specific public schools in the city? I'm particularly interested in elementary schools.
