I don't agree with you too often, but this time you're spot on. Not pointing at any individuals, but I suspect a lot of the same people who crow about their "luxury" apartments are aghast at the price of pasta.

I have not been here... I am not that into pasta. I find it interesting that people down there scream for less 99 cent stores but when something pricey comes to the area no one wants to open their wallet and support it. I am starting to realize this town has a lot of posers, That explains all the pizza shops.

It's no doubt quality food, but seriously?! I guess the thinking is whatever price the market will bear.

The price they are charging for a pound or ravioli is laughable.

I got 3lbs of their spaghetti noodle a couple of nights ago.

First I have to admit that I don't have any real authentic experience with Italian food. So I really don't know whether or not what I got was authentic.

Besides eating at Italian restaurants, when I eat spaghetti, it's what comes in a box. The noodles I got was very different from that (whether or not that's good or bad, please someone enlighten me). It reminded me of Japanese noodle, called Udon. It was very big around and the texture, color and consistency were exactly like Udon.

In my humble opinion, it didn't go particularly well with the tomato/meat source that we made that night. But again, I'm no Italian food critic. So I would like to try other things next time.

I'm excited to have a fresh pasta shop in town. We stopped by this past weekend and bought two kinds. The fat spaghetti (with the fancy name I can't remember) was good, but the spinach/ricotta ravioli was truly memorable with just a simple olive oil, salt, pepper, and parm topping. I'm hopeful about this addition to JC, and will definitely return. (They should get stickers for their plain boxes that give the cooking times.)

Picked up some red wine braised short rib ravioli this evening. Delicious.

I stopped in yesterday and everyone was super friendly. They said they are getting ready to have cooking classes and a restaurant/eatery sort of spot. While it may not have had a large selection, I'm pretty excited to see what happens here.

They are supposedly opening tomorrow (Wed 5th Nov) at 10am.
