There is always something going on in the city, bikewise:
http://bikenyc.org/events There are bike clubs with organised rides. Today was the Tour de Farm in NJ (started in Blairstown) with 78 and a 35 mile options. Tomorrow is the Twin Lights Century (with 30, 55 and 70 mile options in addition to the 100) out of Highlands, down by Sandy Hook. http://www.bikenewyork.org/ride/twin-lights-ride/ If you have a half hour and google cycling in NJ you could come up with enough rides to keep you busy every weekend through the end of next summer. The one unfortunate thing is that more often than not you have to get out of the immediate area to really be able to ride - River Road up to the Palisades is great and all, but it does get old after a while.

This looks great! Do you happen to know if there's anything similar to the event I missed happening in NYC anytime soon?
