If you leave a diamond ring, how do you know if the stone is not replace with something else?

Any suggestions of a jeweler I can trust to do this and do it right? We are not going to the place where we bought it- this is the second broken ring from them, ughhhh.

CL,

The only jeweler I would use for what your describing is:

Stanley & Son
1006 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10018
Phone:(212) 354-6975

Hoboken gold and diamonds fixed my engagement ring. They did a good job and did it very quickly. I had been going to Greenwich Jewelers in Manhattan for jewelry repair and the quality was the same, but the cost difference was out of this world.

I guess it depends on how badly damaged the ring is, but we took my new fiancee's ring to one of the places in the mall to get it resized, polished and fix a missing prong, and it was cheap and fast. Probably more reliable and accountable than some two-bit place in Chinatown too.

Repairing watches is not the same as repairing jewelry. Whoever you use please post results, I am sure others will like to know about jewelry repairs.

Have repaired multiple watches for me. Never offer anything you don't need and repairs are quick and professional.

Unfortunately my engagement ring needs repair- a section of it literally broke off and disappeared a few months ago. Need a great, reputable jeweler to give me an estimate for my insurance and repair it.

Any suggestions of a jeweler I can trust to do this and do it right? We are not going to the place where we bought it- this is the second broken ring from them, ughhhh.
