We know what we were in for?.I want a local's perspective. I've been lurking on here since we were looking all over JC. We've lived in "up and coming" neighborhoods before, so just want to know what this board has to say.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but shouldn't you have asked this before you bought??

My wife and I are closing on our house in less than 3 weeks. We are close to the Danforth Station, and I wanted to reach out to see what you guys have to say about the neighborhood. We've done a lot of research and know some of the good and the bad. The lady we bought from was a resident of 30 years who raised children and said it as a lovely little pocket of Jersey City. We have kids, and are aware of the school situation, and are looking to put the kids in private school. What goes on in Greenville? Anything in particular we need to know about the neighborhood? We are relocating from Brooklyn and fell in love with JC. Any input is welcome, and we look forward to being part of the community.
