While I own some of his art from his early days, and am generally a fan, I really think that this piece is underwhelming and he could of really done something more original and different.

This dude cut me off the other day on Grand. No blinker, just strong armed his way w/out even looking. The only reason I know it was the same vehicle was the JCFD stickers plastered all over the back. I made a comment to my wife about it on how these dudes just do whatever they want. What a random thing to wake up to on a message board.

I'll be DJing there this Saturday night from 11-2. I used to work for the them in AP doing some solid weekly nights for a lot of years (Brickwall/ Annex). I spin a variety of classic hip hop, raw funk and soul, original samples, drum breaks and quality reggae. I am not trying have a douche factor, just spin good music (and not top 40). Nod your head or dance, but just play solid stuff. I don't spin EDM so maybe that will weed out some of that factor.

Just wanted to say thanks to whoever recommended Byron Hutchinson as a plumber. I had an emergency leak and dude came out right away and took care of it, as well as putting in a new faucet etc. I am going to use him again for some stuff in the future. Thx JC List!

When we first put the bid on our house, the seller disclosed they had the soil tested and small contamination levels documented. I'm not sure if the company that did the test had to report that to the State or not. I would assume so, only because when they finally took the tank out they discovered higher levels. As a result, the closing was delayed, they tested the soil by digging until there was no more oil, and we finally got in the house. I'd ask your lawyer and realtor that same question, I'm sure both have dealt with this before. Our agent said our closing was the top three most difficult in his career because of the tank. Best of luck!

Just saying I don't want my front porch accessible from the street, nor do I want anyone just thinking that it's a hangout.

I simply asked them to leave. They weren't even embarrassed and continued to talk on their cell phone like I wasn't even there. Time to fence up the front.

Cool. Had some people just randomly hanging out on my porch when I came home yesterday, so I think a fence might deter that. Cheers-

When I first moved here my weekly delivery of Verve Coffee Roasters (VCR) got screwed up. Someone recommended Mod Cup, so I checked it out. I went there and picked up their A Secret Affair Espresso roast. Staff was friendly and coffee was tasty. Looking forward to trying some more of their roasts.

I'm sure their lawyer and real estate agent told them that they, as previous owners, were responsible of this and had to take care of it. The State already knew about it, so I think they were kind of stuck and had to get it rectified either way. I mean, we could have walked away, but we really wanted to get the house. The only choice they gave us was to have them put in another above ground oil tank (we wanted natural gas), which was better than not getting the house at all. The house was basically turn key. A lotos stress, but we finally got it and are happy with it.

That's what happened with us in initially. The sellers were like: Tough, we will just pull off the market. We wanted this house bad and were completely crushed. However, when they realized that not doing anything would really limit them in terms of selling, especially in this neighborhood, I guess they figured they would do whatever they had to. We lucked out, it could have gone on for months. Best of luck, oil tanks suck. Hopefully you will come out on the better side.

Looking for a reliable locksmith here in JC. I gave a call to one that was recommended a few years ago on here but didn't get a call back. Can any shoot a few reliable names out? Cheers.

5 Guys, a full truck, and 10 hours of work. Plus they moved from a second floor apt. to a three story house. Because they moved about 40 boxes of vinyl records besides the regular furniture/ boxes, I gave them $100 a piece. Good movers are hard to find.

I don't have a front fence but am thinking of getting one with a gate. I think i will have the city come and paint the no parking on the street for now. Whoever did it had to physically walk in my yard and rip it off the sign post the cowards,. Most likely late at night. Thx for the suggestions all.

I'd like to definitely see them pack up and leave too. I'm not directly on Ocean, but close enough to feel the impact. I have kids, who will be growing up here in JC, and whatever the city has to do to clean up the crime/ drug activity is fine with me. If the announcement works, and hopefully for the long term, that's great. Let's just hope it goes silent for a while then back to the normal operations.

Now a lot of you on this board have lived in JC for quite a while and have seen the ups and downs of the city. I'm a new resident and we bought in Greenville. My street is quiet for the most part. Although quiet doesn't mean there isn't stuff going on. I am not oblivious to the shootings two blocks over, or the day to day comings and goings of people on drugs on my block. That being said, I think the announcement of "ramping up efforts" is stupid. Why announce it? Isn't there a better way to clean up the drug dealing in the area? I like the idea of CCTV to monitor things, but why let everyone know? Just do it and tell us about it later after you've hopefully made some progress.
