I was in Buffalo for a week for work... I remember driving by that silo. No lights though whilst I was up there. Buffalo is:

Its cold. REALLY cold. The wind off the lake never stops and you hardly ever see the sun. I had to look up the weather records.. only 48% of the days per year are 'sunny'.

Its the fattest city I have ever been in. Insanely obese people. Even women in their late teens and early 20s were heavy.

Electricity is very cheap (hydro power), about 1/2 what we pay here. A steel manufacturer is taking advantage of the cheap power and is building a new steel plant.

From Buffalo, NY - like JC, a "legacy city", i.e. a former manufacturing city with a large stock of decaying, underutilized industrial structures. I would love to see what creative people could do with the Powerhouse, Bergen Arches, 6th Street Embankment, etc.
