A United Water Jersey City emergency crew has responded to a broken 8" water main on Bayview Avenue near the intersection of Martin Luther King Dr and Ocean Avenue. Approximately 250 residences in the vicinity will have their water service interrupted until repairs can be completed. United Water will notify affected residents. Crews will remain on site until full service is restored. We appreciate our customers? patience and understanding while we work as quickly and safely as possible.

If you heard it on WNYC (NPR) you might be getting confused with the huge water main break that happened today in Manhattan in the West Village, around 13th Street and 6th Avenue. They have been reporting it all morning, as it has caused massive delays in the subway system and they just reported that the break has resulted in a huge crater that could fit a small school bus.

Is there another water main break in JC? Where? I only heard part of the story before leaving for work today. I live just up the hill on Newark ave in the island section but I have water (at least I did at 5:30am). What's going on?
