When riding our bikes we picked up a menu from the place by the light rail-I ended up tossing it out, because it was either never open when we drove by, or when we called and got through no one could speak English and my Spanish is virtually non-existent so we didn't order.

Oh wow that sounds cool. Maybe it's just the hours, I usually pass by after work around 330 and it's closed. The one time it was open was on a Saturday around noon-ish. Will check it out again this weekend.

Yeah, I think you linked to the wrong place. If you're talking about the little stand alone building on Pacific by the light rail tracks, the place is never open! One time I walked by and it was actually open so I tried to order... CASH ONLY. Walked home hungry.

Has anyone tried this spot? its over on Pacific. I usually pass it on my way dtjc and it looks fun.

Really? every time I pass it, its open and looks festive. The last time I passed it they had a live salsa band playing on the patio. However the last time I passed it, it was sometime in October just before Halloween... maybe they closed?

Wow really? They didn't seem to change much, so what did they do just change the name and sign? The decor looks the same and those huge statues on the patio are still there.

You're thinking of the one near the light rail tracks.

YES! perhaps I got the name wrong, its near the lightrail tracks with the huge patio out back. I will drive by later today to get the correct name.... its just a few steps away from the Lafayette flea market.

Maybe we are talking about different restaurants? The Sabor de La Tia location was on same block as the pizza place. There's another place south of Communipaw that I've never caught the name of. I think the sign says something about lechon. It definitely looks more fun than the place I was referencing.

That Yelp review is out of date. Not sure when Sabor de La Tia closed, but if I remember correctly, it became Pacific Restaurant. That closed, as well. Now the awning says it's a Guatemalan place?just noticed the new signage a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to check it out, but I'm also curious.
