Might be that there are more free-lancers and artists that don't have insurance or maybe just a larger % of young people. There may also be foreigners doing rotational assignments with insurance from their home countries that doesn't get included.

Yes, for example we have 20% which is publicly insured. Which I assume is Medicaid and Medicare. However I assume teachers, firemen and other city and state employees are a part of the publicly insured as well. Which BP has a cluster of public workers.

A lot of odd artifacts in that map. Do you suppose medicaid count as insured?

Thanks for posting, What I find surprising is Bayside Park area (48% insured) of GV has more insured than some parts of dtjc and Hoboken. Very interesting.

Anyone else see this?
I guess its not shocking that JCDT and Hoboken are not opaque... and I find the contrast of the two locations to Brooklyn interesting. Wondering if the >10% on the Hoboken waterfront is the influence of Stevens students. http://www.nytimes.com/newsgraphics/2 ... -map/?partner=rss&emc=rss
