Odd, I thought we'd already had a referendum on this a while ago but I guess I'm misremembering.
Your title and post make it sound like this is some terrible thing Democrats are doing, but I don't see anything to indicate that Republicans are pushing for this. Could we maybe have a single thread on this site without it instantly turning int "arggghhh Democrats are always doing this" or "Republicans are the absolute worst!" Seriously tone it down every now and then.
