Sounds like maybe the truck drivers drove up from the South with a stash of narcotics, collected their money, and were heading back home but the buyer or someone related to the buyer went after them to get the cash back.

They did film a scene at Crown Fried Chicken nearby on Communipaw, where Bobby Bacala shot an aspiring rapper in his behind to give him some street cred!

I live like half a mile from this spot, its where GVJC use to have there parties, its an industrial area where you will find lots of trucks moving stuff from all over the country.

There is a huge warehouse there owned by a moving company. I ride my bike back there to get dtjc and there is never any people over there after 4 PM. I would question one of the so called victims again.

Agree. They knew there was a large amount of cash in the truck. The victims were on their way to buy something--drugs, guns or Super Bowl parking permits.

Jonathan Lin/The Jersey Journal

Three men in a truck were robbed of more than $4,000 at gunpoint Monday night by three men wearing ski masks in Jersey City, according to a police report.

The three men who were robbed - a 25- and 41-year-old from Pompano Beach, Fla. and a 41-year-old from Leesburg, Va. - were forced to hand over their wallets, phones, GPS devices and a pouch with $3,000 in cash to the robbers at around 11:13 p.m onHalladay Street, officers said.

The two Florida men were sitting in the truck - one in the backseat and the other in the passenger's seat - when robbers entered the truck, the police said.

One of robbers hit the Florida man sitting in the passenger seat in the face with his silver handgun, officers said.

The three robbers then demanded the Florida men hand over their valuables, which included a wallet with $300, a wallet with $700, an iPhone 4 and a Samsung Galaxy S4, according to the police.

At this point, the 41-year-old truck driver from Leesburg, Virg. returned to the truck, at which point one of the robbers inside the truck pointed his silver handgun at him and told him to get inside, police said.

The robbers then forced the man to turn over his wallet with $300, his Samsung Galaxy Note 2, a Rand McNally Truck GPS and a Garmin GPS, officers said.

After taking these items from him, the robbers kept asking "Where's the rest of the money?" in Spanish, the driver said. The victim then pointed to a pouch on the floor of the truck which contained $3,000, police said.

The robbers then fled north on Halladay Street, the report stated.

The three victims said they would not be able to identify the robbers because of the ski masks, the report said.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the Jersey City Police Department's confidential tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
