Lilagirl, I have a empty store front downtown on 4th & monmouth. We are gettiing to rehab the space. It is approx 1200 SQF.

If there were evening or weekend adult ballet classes, I would definitely be interested. I go to a ballet class in hoboken and there are usually only 4 or 5 people there, so maybe the interest just isn't there for adult classes. :(

Thanks Russ-- the studios there look very nice but we are looking only for studios walking distance from the downtown area.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am researching for a friend and she needs sprung/marley floors and mirrored walls, so a gym wouldn't really work. There are so many dance studio rentals in NYC, I thought JC would be a good (cheaper) alternative, but maybe not. For an area with such a strong arts community, I am surprised that there aren't any adult dance lessons (ballet, modern) offered here at all. I thought my friend might be able to fill a gap, but maybe the reason there aren't any such classes is because the interest level is not strong enough locally.

Try Grace church on Erie, they rent their gym space all the time, for yoga, samba, tennis, etc.

Does anyone know if there are dances studio spaces available to rent (and prices?) in the downtown/Paulus Hook or Hamilton Park area? Looking for space suitable for small classes or private lessons. I was surprised I couldn't find anything searching online.
