Friends of Animals sells certificates for $65 (spay) and $51 (neuter)
http://friendsofanimals.org/programs/ ... y-and-neuter-certificates the certificates are accepted at the JC Animal Hospital on Westside Ave, and they cover everything: anesthesia, surgery, meds. it's really a great deal. I've used it for several rescues and fosters.

People for Animals in Hillside offers low cost spay and neuter, and vaccines. It's about $90 for everything. Thanks for helping the kitties!

Thanks for helping that cat!
Carol McNichol at http://www.neighborhoodferalcat.org/ would be the best person to speak to.

It was in a home, but that home was under construction and nobody lived there. The cat was crying all night. The next day, the contractor allowed myself and a couple others in to catch the cat (it was starving). I know someone that will adopt it, that is why I'm looking for a place that will do it very cheep or free. Additionally, I am curious about learning more about any catch and release programs in the city. I would like to donate some of my time to it. Thanks!

I just noticed you said you found the cat a home. In that case, you won't want to use the spay neutering initiative because they will "tip" the ear (cut a little piece off so that trap/neuter/return folks know that cat has been neutered). But the feral cat initiative people can point you in the right direction.
If you have your own transportation, you can get it done here for about $90 http://www.pfaonline.org/spay-neuter/services-fees/ If you don't have transportation, someone at the feral cat initiative can probably help arrange it for you.

I saw that there is a program granted for free to Jersey City residents by the town to get a spay or neuter for your feline.
I had caught a stray kitten yesterday and even found it a home. However, I'd like to have it neutered first. Is there a catch and release program for the city or some way to have this done as stray cats are a serious problem and I'd like to help. Thanks!
