Dependence on car is one of the reasons for the obesity epidemic in this country.

Btw, can we have some consideration for car owners in JC? Not everyone gets everything done within a 1 mile radius of where they live....

I have always hope we do something along these lines in Jersey City - perhaps Columbus Dr.

CC Drive /RR Ave. would make sense width wise but for length and probably the only full length street in J.C. I think Montgomery St. could suffice. It is centralized and enables everyone in the city from east to west to partisipate.

one of the worst ideas about JC I have ever heard...ever. I appreciate us trying to make JC more like NYC but you are focusing on all the wrong things...

Any place in NJ will always be more car-centric than any place in NYC. It is the reason why people move to NJ and even JC - more living space and room for a garage or at least options to park a car...

A previous poster also mentioned that christopher columbus is a major thoroughfare, esp to the tunnel, so closing it will be disastrous...esp on the weekends when people are trying to get to the shore

If you must close a street, close a small street where no cars travel on...closing CC, JFK, Marin, Grand, or any main street would result in huge traffic congestion on residential streets!

Btw, can we have some consideration for car owners in JC? Not everyone gets everything done within a 1 mile radius of where they live....

Closing Columbus would be a nightmare. It's DT's main thoroughfare to and from the TPK. awful idea.
