Radiant is sweet, but getting good advice is really difficult. Experts at heat loss calcs told me radiant wouldn't work on my terrazzo kitchen floor in an uninsulated brick building. I did it anyway (hydronic pex suspended in the joist bays under the floor) and it works like charm, floor never gets above 78.

There's a heat systems guy down at General Plumbing Supply in Bayonne named Tom who I've chatted with and claims to know a lot about radiant, he might also refer a contractor.

Not yet sure if hydronic or electric...space is somewhat large, over 600sq/ft, and ideally hydronic would be best when looking at operational costs for large areas...

Water or electric? I've had two electric heated floors installed. Not particularly complicated for any good contractor.
