Jersey City man caught breaking into hair salon, police say

Police say they caught a a 33-year-old Jersey City man breaking into a hair salon on Ocean Avenue near Winfield Avenue early Monday.

A 33-year-old Jersey City man was caught breaking into a hair salon at Ocean Avenue near Winfield Avenue early Monday, according to police.

Cops on patrol at 12:25 a.m. watched as Ibrahima Balde, of Armstrong Avenue, broke a window to gain access to the hair salon, police reports said.

Balde ran from cops when they approached him but they subdued him nearby, reports said.
Balde told police that his sister worked at the salon and had given him permission to enter the establishment after business hours, reports said.

The owner of the salon told police she had no idea who Badle's sister was, reports said.

Balde had two outstanding traffic warrants and an active warrant out of the Hudson County Sheriff's Department, police reports said.
