I'd love to get your carpenter's contact info. Your email isn't listed with your profile, so I sent you a PM.

Thanks!

I had a solid maple cabinet repaired by a master carpenter and it ran me $150 plus materials, total under $200. He's only available evenings, Saturdays, and when it rains (he can't do his regular construction job when it rains) but he's worth the wait. Email me for his contact information.

I would be very cautious if someone says "sure, no problem". The side panel of a cabinet is not an accessory "board", it's integral to the structure of the cabinet, you basically would need to take down the cabinet, disassemble it to remove the side, being careful not to damage the hardwood face frame, and rebuild it's carcass with a new panel.

If that panel from the mfr, which I assume to be a 3/16 piece of finished ply, can't be applied to mask the damage in some way, I'd say the contractor was right.

Can you post a pic?

I recently had a leak which damaged one of the cabinets in my kitchen.

The leak damaged only one side panel of the cabinet. The wood is warped, so this panel needs to be replaced.

The kitchen contractor who originally installed it says he will only replace the entire cabinet, not just the single damaged board. This is very expensive ($500-600 parts and labor) so I'd like to avoid going this route.

Concerning aesthetics, the manufacturer sells a facade panel which attaches to the new board, so the new board matches the rest of the cabinetry.

Can anyone recommend a carpenter or repairman who can replace a single side board of a kitchen cabinet, then attach the facade panel?

The cabinets are from Diamond Cabinetry.

Thanks!
