I hate to make assumptions even more so of this type but I perused this girls FB page and it seems that she is affiliated with a gang... which is sad and even more sad that she left 5 children at the age of 27 with no mother, one son is only 4 months old. It makes me sick to my stomach actually.

What were the circumstances of the abduction? Wasn't there a kidnapping last month of a woman and her baby?

The woman who was abducted in Jersey City Saturday and whose body was found in Newark late last night has been identified as a 27-year-old Bidwell Avenue woman, Jersey City police said.

Her identity is being withheld by Jersey City police since the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is handling homicide investigation, police spokesman Stan Eason said.

According to police reports, the woman was forced into a black, four-door sedan on Saturday at 10:30 p.m., and there were a number of witnesses. Her body was found late last night in Newark, according to another law enforcement source.

It was originally reported that the abduction occurred at Communipaw Avenue and Grand Street.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has not immediately returned calls for more information on the woman's death.

The abduction was not reported to police until Sunday afternoon, 16 hours after it occurred, Eason said. On Sunday afternoon police at the West Precinct said they were interviewing "persons of interest."

Not sure what is more terrible, the kidnapping and murder or the fact the kidnapping was not reported for 16 hours. It boggles the mind.

(scary this is another example of ALL of the crime that is occurring in JC that we don?t even know about. I thought ?The Chief? was going to create an online real time crime blog. So we at least know what is going on around us)

The body of a woman believed to have been abducted from Jersey City on Saturday night was found in Newark late last night, authorities said.

Jersey City Police Department's Major Case Unit is investigating the kidnapping, which is believed to have occurred on Communipaw Avenue near Grand Street sometime Saturday night.

The kidnapping was reported to police on Sunday afternoon at 1:40 p.m., a person with knowledge of the investigation said.
