Maybe it's the same ass-O who announces the little league games at Enos Jones Park. The one who has the volume up about 100x what it needs to be.

Yea it'd be real nice if you could understand a single thing that was being said.
"THERE IS AN EMERGENCY! GO TO HIGH GROUND NOW OR DIE" turned into mushmouth doesn't really help.

Reassuring. Ten years after 9/11 and this is their emergency warning system. Maybe the mic was hooked up to Healy at his son's bar for "lunch."

It was a test of the Hudson County Emergency Alert system. First a voice message, then some alert tones, then the voice message again.

I was right underneath one of the tower loudspeakers when it went off. (Near Harborside Financial Center.) It DID sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown. I couldn't make out anything except the part where I heard the word "test."
It was LOUD. Of course, no one was even paying attention.

Yea i was wondering if that high pitched squeal was related, but didn't want to jump the gun (heard a chopper right after that, too). Goddamn that's a good half mile away.

I'm on 5th St. and it sounded like it was coming from at least 5 blocks away, and was loud as hell, but all I heard was an adult from Charlie Brown talking.
